Sailing into Doubleheaders
Lost days due to uncooperative weather are creating headaches for organisers. Tomorrow will see racing for both flights 3 and 4 on reduced Courses (12.5 instead of 18.5). Then it would lead 6 days to race 5 flights.
We are barely 2 flights into the schedule of round robin 2 and the end of it needs to be planned. The principal race officer - Peter Reggio - is asking for a clarification of rules: essentially he wants the power to force more twin bills of racing if he feels the need to (i.e. if the weather forecast sounds bad, he wants to be able to anticipate some flights of racing).
I don't know if the teams will like that, but given that the quarter-finals loom, that teams must be eliminated, the thought makes sense.
Morning racing in Hauraki Bay means we could have live racing in the evening here in Europe (RAI permitting), which is a side-benefit (both for us and for TV audience).
