We meet again !
Luna Rossa faces TNZ anew. Hopes, expectations and memories from seven years back flood back in. The LV Cup finals have that little extra...

This round allows for rather extensive preparation. To the 8 days planned on the calendar, LR closed its semis 5 days early. That provides a sensible amount of time to test, adjust, train. The probable result will be a final where the differences will be few and far between.

* * * *

So how did TNZ fare in the semis ?
The approach was decisively more traditional in this camp, staying between the mark and the opponent. Desafìo, like Oracle, had somewhat of an edge going downwind, but this could not compensate for an obvious advantage to TNZ windward.

Tacking and gybing duels always favoured TNZ. They execute like Oracle did.

TNZ's only apparent weaknesses were in the pre-start, when Jablonski outwitted Dean Barker, then kept the lead. In such conditions, TNZ never managed to surpass the Spaniards. More to the point, the sixth race was very telling: although TNZ was constantly on Desafìo's heels, they never managed to throw them off.
