10 knots of wind; the cold front has delivered a bit on the promise. TNZ has shown better performance in these conditions.
LR tactically controlled Areva, but did not flex any speed muscles as one would have hoped. In other words, there may be other bad days on the horizon, particularly with TNZ, ML and Desafio coming up...
The feeling is that the tactics are under control, but we're not looking at the 'Silver Bullet' of past editions.
+39 conferms its place in the standings with tactical errors on both windward and leeward gates. There's a quartet at the bottom of the class.
ML takes expected points against Germans and Chinese, the latter who heard a snap that gave them a big scare and enduced them to forfeit the race. but the big matches are still to come for ML, in particular the match-up with Victory Challenge which ought to part waters.
Flight 7 expectations focus on Shosholoza e Desafio. The middle spots start to take shape. Big drama: the Spaniards lose a spinnaker at a mark with man in the water... but for only a few seconds! They keep a hard-earned lead on the first two legs. They confirm the good results of yesterday and can sincerely hope for fourth spot overall.
